Bob Dylan - Greatest Hits

A few years ago, before I knew and/or cared about Bob Dylan a fraction of the amount I now do, my best friend Ricky and I were on a roadtrip. We drove to northern Indiana to visit some friends and on the way back, I bought this very Bob Dylan record [on cassette tape, no less] and a pair of aviators. Feeling as cool as we possibly could, we drove through cornfields with our windows down singing along to "Mr. Tambourine Man" and what few other tracks we knew. There will always be a spot reserved for Mr. Dylan in my heart, and I will forever treasure this record [as well as his 500 others]. If you don't know much about this man, do yourself a favor and download this record, and then rent "I'm Not There". Chances are, you won't have even a clue as to what is going on in the film, but if it's any consolation, you get to hear the likes of Sufjan Stevens and Jeff Tweedy covering some of Dylan's songs for the soundtrack.

Also, you might find it interesting just how many songs Dylan has written that were later covered and thought of as the original. Two examples that come to mind are "All Along The Watchtower" and "It Ain't Me Babe".
