The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement

It would seem that every successful band has a side project, and this is the lesser-known outlet of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane of The Rascals.

Alex Turner has one of the most recognizable voices I have ever heard; slightly gruff but beautiful in its own right. Add that to driving music, reminiscent of James Bond themes [especially on "My Mistakes Were Made For You"], you'll find an album that is the most mature and accomplished to date in this 19 year old's already blossoming career.

I would be so bold as to say that "The Age Of The Understatement" is one of the best of 2008.

Tracklisting:
1. The Age of the Understatement
2. Standing Next To Me
3. Calm Like You
4. Separate and Ever Deadly
5. The Chamber
6. Only The Truth
7. My Mistakes Were Made For You
8. Black Plant
9. I Don't Like You Anymore
10. In My Room
11. Meeting Place
12. The Time Has Come Again

Highlight Tracks: "The Age of the Understatement", "Calm Like You", "My Mistakes Were Made For You"
