A.A. Bondy - When The Devil's Loose

A.A. Bondy is quickly becoming one of my favorite songwriters. His last album was great, but this new album is simply amazing. I don't exactly know what it is, but there is something about his strained voice and his soft melodies. There is something about the way he wraps his voice around his guitar, leaving little to be desired from any sort of backing instrumentation.

Honestly, this album has done well to leave my stereo for longer than a little while at a time.

A.A. Bondy is a lesser known folk singer-songwriter that I stumbled upon fairly recently, and fell in love with from the beginning of the opening track, "How Will You Meet Your End?". The songs are of heartbreak and sound like they would be far more comfortable being played through the speakers of a dirty barroom jukebox, than through the earbuds of an ipod. If you like bands like Bon Iver, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the one and only Bob Dylan, then do yourself a huge favor and download this gem of an album.
