Autumn Mixtape

Whenever the air gets a little crisper and the leaves begin their change, I always find myself in the mood for music that is introspective and beautiful, sometimes folk in nature, but always atmospheric. Here is a mix that I made for my good friend Devin a few weeks ago that I have been listening to myself ever since. Do enjoy this, it is perfect for driving or sitting alone or whatever situation you may find yourself in.

The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving

The Weakerthans have been one of those bands for me [at an increasing rate] over the last few years that I love a little more every time I listen to them. The way that the lyrics are crafted and the clever combination of genres that have little to do with one another lends to the love that I feel for this band. Left & Leaving is no exception, though far from my favorite album in The Weakerthans' discography. If you like what you hear, then be sure to download Reconstruction Site which is by far their best to date.

The Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site

Being that this is my first post, I thought it would be appropriate to post one of the most meaningful and cohesive albums I've found to date.  This album, falling somewhere in my top 5 favorites of all time, is full of driving, albeit genre-bending, songs and expertly-crafted lyrics.  These canadians have created one of the most listenable, yet thought-provoking albums of all time.

 "Buy me a shiny new machine that runs on lies and gasoline and all those batteries we stole from smoke alarms..."

This album, through and through, is summertime, driving the interstates with the windows down and the wind rattling in being the only other sound.
